Daniel F. Perkins, Ph.D., is the principal scientist and founder of the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness, as well as a professor of family and youth resiliency and policy at Penn State. He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1995. Dr. Perkins’ work involves teaching, research, and outreach through the Penn State Cooperative Extension Service. His most recent effort is the development of the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness, which is designed to build science-based practice for promoting principles of effectiveness in evidenced-based programming to enhance military family health, well-being, and readiness. Dr. Perkins has conducted numerous studies on the use of evidence-based programs designed to enhance child, youth, and family health and well-being and the prevention of problem behaviors in children and youth.
